Description

The product developer will oversee the design and building processes of all truck beds used and created for manufacturing and sale.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Work directly with customers on custom design needs
· Define the manufacturing process and quote the job for the customer
· Ensure the manufacturing team understands the quote and help with the initial manufacturing order to make sure customer needs are met
· Design and build pre-production models of new products. The products will vary but not limited to new bed series and kits. This will require working with manufacturing to build the pre-production products
· Work with manufacturing to assist in manufacturing improvements. Improvements include processes, tooling, material handling flow and all other processes
· Work at trade shows as needed
· Visit with customers on an as needed basis
· Travel up to 40% may be required
· All other duties assigned by management

Skills:
· Carpentry and woodworking skills preferred
· Thorough knowledge of equipment used within the department
· Excellent oral and written communication skills required
· Ability to plan for day to day operations to meet deadlines
· Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and appealing work environment

Qualifications:
· High school education and diploma required
· At least 4 years experience in department or similar work environment required
· Thorough knowledge of all equipment and process
· Must possess 5 year driving record with clear history for the past three years
· Must be able to supervise and motivate employees to increase turnaround times
· Must be able to obtain forklift license

Physical Requirements:
· Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)
· Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
· Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)
