You'll work alongside nationally recognized constitutional litigators and play a vital role in expanding NCLA's reach through compelling digital content, marketing, branding, and communications. If you're a creative communicator who wants your work to have real purpose and lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.Position Summary The Manager, Digital Marketing and Audience Growth will lead the development and execution of NCLA's digital marketing strategy to expand the organization's reach, grow its audience, and strengthen supporter engagement. This position oversees NCLA's website, email marketing, digital advertising, branding, and marketing analytics, with a particular focus on growing social media and email audiences. The Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Communications team to advance NCLA's mission and amplify the impact of its litigation, media outreach, and educational initiatives.This is a full-time role based in Arlington, VA. The Manager will report to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing.Responsibilities Website Management and Digital Content (40%)Manage and continuously improve NCLA's website, collaborating with attorneys, communications staff, and outside vendors to publish timely, accurate, engaging, and mission-focused content, including press releases, articles, videos, podcasts, event information, and other digital content.Identify opportunities to improve website performance, user experience, search engine optimization (SEO), accessibility, and content organization.Work with outside web developers and freelancers to implement enhancements, troubleshoot technical issues, and support future website initiatives.Help develop and execute long-term website and digital content strategies that increase visibility, audience engagement, and supporter acquisition.Monitor website analytics and user behavior, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased conversions.Conduct A/B testing, and continuously optimize website content, landing pages, and user journeys to improve engagement and conversion rates.Marketing and Audience Growth (40%)Lead the planning, creation, and execution of email marketing campaigns, newsletters, fundraising appeals, and organizational announcements that educate, engage, and grow NCLA's audience.Develop and implement integrated digital marketing strategies that drive measurable growth in website traffic, email subscribers, social media followers, supporter engagement, website conversions, and overall organizational visibility.Design and optimize marketing funnels, audience segments, automated campaigns, and subscriber journeys that convert website visitors into subscribers, donors, event participants, and long-term supporters while improving engagement and retention.Collaborate across the Communications team to maximize the reach and impact of NCLA's litigation victories, videos, podcasts, media appearances, publications, and special initiatives.Plan, execute, and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns, including Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and X, to expand audience reach and support organizational priorities.Analyze website, email, social media, and advertising performance, and recommend data-driven improvements.Stay current on emerging digital marketing technologies, trends, and best practices, identifying innovative opportunities to strengthen NCLAs communications and marketing efforts.Branding and Design (15%)Maintain and strengthen NCLA's visual identity, ensuring consistent branding, messaging, and visual standards across all digital and print communications.Collaborate with colleagues to design and produce graphics, presentations, marketing collateral, advertisements, reports, and other digital and print communications tailors to NCLA’s audiences.Project Management (5%)Coordinate production of NCLA's annual report by managing timelines, vendors, designers, printers, and internal stakeholders from concept through publication.Manage communications and marketing projects from concept through completion, coordinating internal stakeholders and external partners to meet deadlines and budgets while balancing multiple deadlines and priorities.Support organizational campaigns, conferences, special events, fundraising initiatives, and other strategic communications projects as needed.Identify opportunities to improve communications workflows, project management processes, and cross-department collaboration.Qualifications Three or more years of experience in communications, marketing, digital content management, or a related role. Commitment to NCLA's mission and dedication to protecting constitutional liberties.Experience managing website content through a content management system (WordPress experience preferred). Strong design skills and proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms, and AI prompting.Experience with email marketing, CRM, and marketing automation platforms such as ActiveCampaign. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Analytical mindset with experience reviewing performance metrics and identifying opportunities for growth. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, digital media, or a related field. Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a nonprofit, public policy, advocacy, legal, or mission-driven organization. Familiarity with SEO, website analytics, and digital marketing best practices. Experience coordinating print projects and vendor relationships. Knowledge of social media advertising and audience development strategies. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $80,000-100,000, depending on skills and experience.
