Sampler-Inspectors collect samples of imported food lots located at various warehouses for laboratory analysis. They perform cargo inspections for damage and general shipping condition. In addition, the sampler-inspector conducts check weighing; supervises cargo loading and unloading; collateral inventory surveys, and inspects warehouses and products for insect, rodent, and bird contamination.
This work requires some degree of manual labor and lifting up to 60 lbs. to shoulder height. The ability to write concise reports of findings and take clear documentary photos is an integral part of the job. Basic computer skills are required. Candidates must be high school graduates or have GRE. No experience is necessary: FTS will train.
