Payroll & Benefits Accountant, Full-time
Equipment dealer in Yakima Washington is looking for a full-charge payroll & benefits accountant. Person will be responsible for all aspects of payroll, payroll reporting requirements, complance with government regulations, records management and payroll accounting. Responsible for employee benefits. Coordinates and supports safety, retro and OSHA programs. Provides miscellaneous monitoring, tracking and support.
Essential duties and responsibilities include entering, tracking and managing accurate payroll data and records to assure they are current and in compliance with policies and procedures. This inclues all types of compensation, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Must be proficient in Excel. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting, software, and procedures ensuring compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices. Provides backup for accounting tasks and to support the Controller.
Qualifications and/or educaton: Bachelor's degree in related field is desirable and two years of relevant experience, which must include a minimum of one year of recent payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quarterly and annual payroll reporting experience is preferred.
