The Council for National Policy is the nation’s premier conservative membership organization spanning the political, corporate, media, and religious worlds. The executive assistant/scheduler role is a full-time position and works from CNP’s Washington, D.C. office.

Special Assistant to the Executive Director (ED)

  • Manage all aspects of scheduling for ED
    • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, phone calls, donor trips, speaking engagements and other events
    • Book all travel arrangements for ED
  • Attend meetings with the ED and complete all follow up tasks, as needed
  • Create actions in Raiser’s Edge database for ED’s daily activities
  • Prepare call sheets for the ED
  • Make calls and write letters to members, as directed
  • Respond to member requests
  • Manage electronic member files
  • Research & create records on potential visitors/members
  • Work with Director of Membership to set up donor visits/recruitment events
  • Facilitate special initiatives as assigned by the ED

 Office Support

  • Greet visitors that come to the office
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, phone calls, and other events
  • Assist with electronic membership and financial files management
  • Assist with member relations – birthday cards, special gifts, etc.
  • Perform day-to-day general office support, including processing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Complete data entry tasks on a regular basis or by assignment
  • Support remote workers by preparing and mailing documents

 Position Requirements

  • Applicants should have excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented and flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound political judgment, practice discretion, and possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to coordinate and administer several calendars with multiple parties, manage varying priorities and adapt to rapidly changing situations impacting the schedule
  • Have experience handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, experience with Raiser’s Edge and knowledge of additional software and programs (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Constant Contact, WordPress) preferred
  • Ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment in carrying out assignments while working both independently and in a team environment
  • Two-Five years of experience in Executive Assistant/Scheduler role
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred

 Benefits Include

  • Annual gross starting salary range of $55,000-$62,000
