Brief Summary:The New Products Assistant role assists in the vision of the Product Management department to develop andexecute new products for the company. Responsibilities will include performing clerical and data entry tasks forthe Product Management department. The New Products Assistant will work closely with the Director andProduct Specialist in researching, assisting with presentations, and finalizing information on new products forMarketing channels. Essential Functions:• Assist in researching competition and current suppliers for new categories and products.• Assist in developing a strategy for placement and promotion of new products in the catalog andwebsite and other Marketing avenues.• Meet with current and potential vendors.• Assist in negotiating with suppliers for best pricing and terms.• Attend presentations for new product lines and ideas with the New Products Approval Committee.• Add new vendors and products to the USP’s system upon approval.• Assist in proofing catalog and website product information.• Maintain product updates and changes from vendors.• Assist in determining ways of increasing sales and profitability of existing products.• Help determine products that need eliminated and/or replaced
