POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations while exploring innovative uses of AI and data analytics. The intern will assist with process optimization, workflow automation, production data analysis, and implementation of AI-powered solutions that drive operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for productivity, quality, and cost improvements.

2. Utilize AI tools and data analytics to generate insights from production and operational data.

3. Support development of dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools for manufacturing performance.

4. Assist with process mapping, time studies, workflow analysis, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

5. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to evaluate automation opportunities.

6. Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

7. Research and test emerging AI technologies and their potential applications in manufacturing environments.

8. Develop documentation, process instructions, and project reports.

9. Support problem-solving activities using root cause analysis and data-driven decision making.

Requirements

Preferred AI Experience

Candidates should have experience or coursework related to one or more of the following:

• Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
• Machine Learning or Predictive Analytics
• Python programming and data analysis
• Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization tools
• SQL or database management
• Manufacturing data collection and analytics
• Automation and robotics technologies
• Prompt engineering and AI-assisted business applications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Data Science
  • Engineering Technology
  • Related Engineering Discipline
• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies.
