St. John Nepomucene Catholic Community is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our vibrant Catholic parish and school. This position offers an opportunity to combine professional accounting skills with meaningful work that supports our faith community, students, ministries, and stewardship efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end activities

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and cash management functions

• Help prepare financial reports, budgets, and related analyses

• Assist with tuition billing, donor contribution tracking, and stewardship reporting

• Support annual audits and ongoing financial compliance activities

• Work collaboratively with parish, school, and finance staff to ensure strong financial stewardship

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting

• Minimum two years of accounting experience 

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting practices

• Experience with accounting software required (i.e. QuickBooks preferred)

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities

• Experience in a nonprofit, church, school, or faith-based organization is a plus
