Job Description
The Assistant Superintendent - $250M Mixed-Use Project - Loudoun County will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Superintendent with day-to-day field operations on a large-scale mixed-use construction project
- Coordinating subcontractors, trades, vendors, and daily site activities
- Monitoring construction progress, quality, safety, and workmanship throughout the project
- Managing site logistics, manpower, material deliveries, and sequencing of trades
- Conducting regular site walks and identifying potential safety, scheduling, or construction issues
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure work is completed correctly
- Tracking short-term schedules and communicating upcoming priorities with subcontractors
- Supporting inspections, punch-list completion, commissioning, and project closeout
- Working closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and project team to resolve field issues
- Maintaining daily reports and documentation covering progress, manpower, deliveries, and site activities
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors while holding trades accountable for quality, safety, and schedule
- Maintaining an organized, safe, and productive jobsite from mobilization through completion

The Successful Applicant
The Assistant Superintendent - $250M Mixed-Use Project - Loudoun County will have:
- 2+ years of experience working in commercial construction, ideally with a general contractor
- Previous experience working on large-scale commercial, multifamily, hospitality, or mixed-use projects
- A strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field operations
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing day-to-day site activities
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and jobsite best practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- The ability to work effectively alongside Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and ownership
- A hands-on approach with a desire to grow into a Superintendent role
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required
