Job Summary
Overview The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), the nation’s premiere public interest election law firm focused on election law, the constitutional arrangement of elections and election integrity, is hiring an Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the regular business operations of an established nonprofit organization.The Operations Manager supports an elite team of lawyers litigating cutting-edge constitutional issues affecting elections. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who cares about the rule of law to assist an organization with a long track record of success. The role is based in our office adjacent the King Street Metro and VRE in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Key Responsibilities· Work with accountant for payroll, tax remittance, accounts receivable, accounts payable and employee retirement plans. Implement and oversee company policies for a nonprofit of 10-15 employees.· Assist President in hiring talent, managing employees and advancing organization. · Cooperate with development and communications team.· Oversee contracts, such as office rental.· Manage physical facilities of small business such as internet, routers, suppliers, office equipment and technology vendors.· Work with highly talented staff and structure an office and procedures that advance the overall mission.· Assist in developing tracking metrics for business programming.Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area, MPA or demonstrated experience managing a small business.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word).· Convey a can-do attitude to lead a smooth-running efficient business environment.· Exceptional organizational, writing and verbal communication skills. Experience in public policy, government, regulatory, or legal communications a plus.· Familiarity with non-profit compliance issues such as charitable licensing, IRS reporting, and local government issues. · A deep appreciation for American Constitutional principles. Work Environment This role is based in our Old Town, Alexandria office, a short walk from the King Street Metro, Amtrak, and VRE stations. Office located in vibrant location in Class A office building. Remote arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates who meet all requirements.Compensation This is a full-time, permanent position. PILF offers competitive compensation, medical and dental benefits, retirement contributions, generous work life balance, and a collaborative, positive work environment.The projected salary range is $50,000–$105,000. The range reflects our openness to a range of experience levels and hybrid or remote work.
