In this vital role, you will empower students and graduates through externship placement, career readiness coaching, and job search guidance. You will build and maintain strong partnerships with local San Antonio-area healthcare providers, facilitate externship opportunities, and provide students with the resume, interview, and networking tools needed to launch successful healthcare careers.

Key Responsibilities

Externship Placement & Clinical Site Management:

  • Site Outreach: Secure quality externship sites through proactive outreach, including cold calling, direct telephone sales, email contacts, online searches, networking via professional associations, and on-site visits to local healthcare facilities.

  • Student Matching & Monitoring: Determine optimum externship placements based on student skills/assessments and instructor input; conduct site visits to monitor progress, address student challenges, and oversee completion of Midterm and Final Evaluations.

  • Pre-Placement Workshops: Conduct pre-externship orientation workshops for senior students immediately prior to clinical placement.

Career Readiness & Employer Engagement:

  • Job Search Coaching: Organize and lead career development workshops covering networking, resume and cover letter writing, interview techniques, portfolio development, and soft skills improvement.

  • Graduate Advising: Advise not-yet-placed graduates to optimize job search activities; maintain and distribute lists of regional job openings.

  • Employer Partnerships: Build employer partnerships across the San Antonio medical community; facilitate and participate in Advisory Board meetings, career fairs, campus marketing events, and graduation ceremonies.

Compliance, Data Entry & Reporting:

  • Onboarding & Document Compliance: Facilitate the acquisition of requisite student documentation (background checks, drug screens, CPR/OSHA/HIPAA certifications, immunizations, and licenses) prior to externship entry.

  • Data & System Management: Log communications, verify employment data, track credentialing/licensure metrics, and manage externship attendance using CampusNexus/CampusVue.

  • Placement Reporting: Generate placement reports to track daily activities, measure results against goals, and compile complete graduate documentation for exit interviews.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recruitment, staffing, account management, or career placement.

  • Technical Skills: Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, video-conferencing tools, and database management (CampusNexus/CampusVue preferred).

  • Communication & Personal Attributes: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; consultative, confident, detail-oriented, and passionate about motivating others.

  • An equivalent combination of relevant training, education, or experience that meets minimum qualifications will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by USDE or CHEA.

Compensation & Employee-Owner Benefits

  • Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.

  • Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible for campus events/evening support) .

  • Employee Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—earn equity in the company as an employee-owner.

  • Retirement: 401(k) Plan with up to a 10% Employer Match.

  • Healthcare Options: Comprehensive Medical (PPO & 2 HDHP options with HSA), Dental, and Vision coverage.

  • Financial Protection: Basic Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, HSA, and FSA options.
