Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Formulate, standardize and supervise all aspects of food production and service. Ensure that the most effective and efficient procedures are used. Ensures proper temperatures for hot and cold foods are maintained. Must have knowledge of therapeutic diets. Records menus, indicating patients likes and dislikes; records changes in patient diet list as needed. Tally menus on production sheets. Visit patients on floor/unit; calls on patients as needed. Inspect work, storage and service areas to ensure optimal sanitation standards are maintained. Demonstrate techniques to employees on handling equipment and utensils. Help with preparation, set-up and service for catering events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Must have Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics.
B. Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification showing proof registered with Commission of Dietetic Registration.
C. Current Dietitian (LD/LDN) license in the state of Texas. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.
D. Personal Job-Related Skills: Supervisory abilities and effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of food service operations. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
E. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: One year in the food service area in a supervisory capacity preferred.
F. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. The ability to comprehend and follow written or verbal instructions or directions. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting are occasionally required.
