Wellness Care | Managing care the right way.

Location: Richardson, Texas  •  On-Site  •  Full-Time

Come to Texas. Bring Your Backbone.

Wellness Care (a TWG Company) is growing fast in Richardson, Texas, and we are looking for an HR professional who still remembers what HR is supposed to do: hire great people, take care of the team, solve problems early, keep the company compliant, and stay out of the way of people doing excellent work.

This is not a corporate HR theater role. There will be no performative workshops, no ideological loyalty tests, no word salad, and no 90-slide decks about “belonging journeys.” We hire on merit, character, work ethic, judgment, and ability. Revolutionary, we know.

We need someone who believes people should be treated with respect, told the truth, held accountable, and allowed to do their jobs without a committee climbing into the canoe.

Who We Are

Wellness Care is a fast-growing health and wellness company headquartered in Richardson, Texas. We help people live healthier, fuller lives, and we believe that starts with building a workplace where strong people can do strong work.

We are practical, direct, fast-moving, and allergic to bureaucratic fog machines. We believe in free speech, personal responsibility, medical privacy, hard work, and rewarding people who actually perform.

If you are looking for a place where common sense has not been put in witness protection, keep reading.

The Job

You will be our HR department. Not a passenger. Not a “support resource.” The owner.

You will run recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, policies, performance conversations, and the thousand tiny things that keep a growing company from turning into a carnival tent in a windstorm.

One hour you may be sourcing candidates. The next, you may be coaching a manager through a hard conversation. The next, you may be fixing a policy, reviewing pay, or making sure we are buttoned up under Texas and federal employment law.

This job requires experience, judgment, grit, warmth, discretion, and a spine.

What You’ll Do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting from job posting to offer.

  • Write job descriptions that sound like they were written by an actual human.

  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and community networks.

  • Screen candidates quickly and professionally. We do not ghost people.

  • Keep the ATS organized and report the recruiting numbers that matter.

  • Run onboarding so new hires feel welcomed, prepared, and clear on expectations.

  • Handle employee questions about policies, benefits, leave, payroll, and workplace issues.

  • Keep us compliant with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, Texas employment law, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Administer benefits and open enrollment without making everyone question their will to live.

  • Handle employee relations with fairness, discretion, and common sense.

  • Conduct investigations and help managers address performance issues directly and respectfully.

  • Keep the handbook useful, current, and readable.

  • Partner with leadership on compensation, job leveling, pay bands, and organizational structure.

  • Help build a workplace where good people want to stay and weak nonsense does not get oxygen.

What We’re Looking For

•       At least 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.

•       Real ownership of both recruiting and HR operations.

•       Strong working knowledge of federal and Texas employment law.

•       Experience in a small or mid-sized company where “that’s not my job” does not fly.

•       The ability to earn trust from every level of the business.

•       Comfort with speed, ambiguity, and honest conversations.

•       HRIS and ATS experience; Gusto is a plus.

•       PHR or SHRM-CP appreciated, though we care more about competence than alphabet soup.

Who You Are

You are calm under pressure, direct without being cruel, kind without being soft, and organized without needing a government grant to make a checklist.

You do not need a committee to make a decision. You do not hide behind policy when judgment is required. You understand that compliance matters, but so does courage.

You like people, but you are not afraid of accountability. You can recruit, coach, document, investigate, negotiate, and tell the truth in the same day without needing to lie down in a dark room.

You are the rare HR person who protects both the company and the employee by insisting on fairness, clarity, and common sense.

Why Wellness Care

•       Real influence with direct access to leadership.

•       A fast-growing company where your work will actually matter.

•       A practical, merit-based culture.

•       Competitive compensation and benefits.

•       Room to grow as we grow.

•       On-site role in Richardson, Texas, right in the heart of DFW.

•       And yes, relocation assistance is available for the right person.

Why Texas?

Because Texas still believes in work, family, faith, freedom, barbecue, handshakes, and the radical idea that adults can be adults at work.

Richardson gives you access to the Dallas-Fort Worth economy without the coastal price tag, the coastal lectures, or the coastal parking nightmares. Great schools, strong communities, no state income tax, and enough brisket to make your cardiologist nervous.

If you are ready to leave behind corporate nonsense and build something real with people who value merit, courage, and common sense, we should talk.
