Description:

Sycamore is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Universal Worker / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care and support to our residents. This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals by assisting with daily living activities and fostering a positive environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills, a patient and empathetic demeanor, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. This position requires a blend of hands-on caregiving and the ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring a high standard of service.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Offer companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities to promote their emotional and social well-being.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
• Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences, demonstrating cooking skills.
• Monitor resident well-being, reporting any changes in condition or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
• Safely assist residents with transfers and mobility, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resident information and personal details.
• Administer basic first aid as needed and ensure a safe environment, holding a First Aid Certification.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and ensure all resident needs are met in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Demonstrated experience in caregiving and providing personal care.
• Working knowledge of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and their proper execution.
• Thorough understanding of confidentiality principles in a healthcare setting.
• General knowledge of basic housekeeping and cooking for individuals.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring lifting ability.
• Proficiency in English Language for clear communication.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated empathy and compassion in all interactions.
• Strong interpersonal communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in home health care settings.
• Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within a caregiving environment.
• Demonstrated patience and a calm demeanor when dealing with challenging situations.
• Experience in planning and leading resident activities.
