Bring Your Compassion to Work

Sometimes care means helping someone get dressed with dignity. Sometimes it means offering a steady hand, listening to a story, or noticing when someone needs extra encouragement. As a Center Aide at LIFE Pittsburgh, these everyday moments are at the heart of your work.

We are looking for someone who brings patience, kindness, and respect to each interaction—someone who wants older adults to feel seen, valued, and supported throughout their day.

  • Tuition reimbursement—because your growth matters
  • Paid time off with generous accruals
  • Up to 9 paid holidays to rest and recharge
  • Short- and long-term disability plans
  • EAP support that includes Mental health and wellness
  • A team that sees your value—not just your hours

How You’ll Make a Difference

Under the direction of the Center Supervisor, you will help Participants feel comfortable, connected, and cared for while attending our Adult Day Health Center. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care with dignity. Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, and mobility while respecting each Participant’s preferences and supporting their independence.
  • Offering a steady hand. Help Participants get on and off vans, accompany them throughout the center, and escort them to outside appointments when needed.
  • Making mealtimes welcoming and supportive. Assist with seating, serving, cutting food, feeding, and dining area cleanup during meals and snacks. Follow each Participant’s dietary specifications under the direction of the Registered Dietitian.
  • Encouraging connection and participation. Support the activities department and attend to Participants’ social needs, helping them feel included in the life of the center.
  • Supporting daily care. Obtain and document Participant weights and communicate care needs or concerns to the appropriate team member.
  • Creating a clean, comfortable environment. Complete center and Participant laundry, disinfect surfaces and equipment, and keep supplies stocked.

This role involves hands-on personal care and the everyday tasks that help a center run well. Each responsibility is an opportunity to make someone’s day safer, more comfortable, and more meaningful.
