Job Summary

Ritz-Craft is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Drywall Sander to join our production team. In this role, you will prepare interior wall and ceiling surfaces of modular homes for finishing by sanding drywall seams, corners, and repaired areas to company quality standards. Successful candidates take pride in producing high-quality work, maintaining a safe work environment, and contributing to an efficient production process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Sand drywall seams, corners, and repaired areas on walls and ceilings to company quality standards.
• Use sanding blocks, sanding sponges, pole sanders, putty knives, and other hand tools to achieve smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
• Perform overhead sanding and work on elevated wall and ceiling areas as needed.
• Inspect surfaces for imperfections and perform corrective sanding when necessary.
• Follow quality standards to ensure all surfaces are properly prepared for painting and finishing.
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Meet production goals while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous drywall, sanding, construction, manufacturing, or related experience preferred, but not required.
• On-the-job training provided for qualified candidates.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with hands and arms extended for prolonged periods, including overhead sanding of ceilings and upper wall surfaces.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear a respirator and other required PPE.
