Full-Time Custodian Holy Family Parish & School | Stow, Ohio Position Details Position Type: Full-Time Employment Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Director of Facilities Compensation: Commensurate with experience Availability: Flexible availability for on-call weekends Position Summary Holy Family Parish & School is seeking a dependable, service-oriented individual to join its team as a Full-Time Custodian. The Custodian takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming spaces where parishioners, students, staff, and visitors can worship, learn, and grow in faith. This position is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and care of parish buildings and grounds. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Custodian plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, attractive, and functional environment throughout the church, school, and campus. Essential Responsibilities Perform assigned custodial duties throughout the church, school, and parish facilities. Assist the Director of Facilities with general maintenance and repair projects. Set up and take down rooms for parish events, meetings, and special functions. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, entrances, and other designated areas as needed. Move furniture, equipment, tables, and chairs to support parish activities. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility needs. Complete light maintenance and repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and painting as needed. Help maintain parish grounds through landscaping assistance, litter removal, and seasonal maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor or Director of Facilities. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. One to three years of custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred. Dependable, service-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexible availability for on-call weekends. Successful completion of a background check. Participation in the Diocesan VIRTUS program. Physical Requirements This position involves regular physical activity and requires the ability to: Lift and Carry: Safely lift and move up to 80 pounds occasionally and climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds. Mobility: Bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and navigate confined mechanical spaces. Work Environment: Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal weather conditions, including performing grounds maintenance and snow removal. Event Setup and Logistics: Move furniture, tables, chairs, and equipment to support the setup and teardown of parish events. Compensation Compensation is commensurate with experience.
