Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and budgets for multifamily construction projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to identify scope requirements and potential risks.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Develop conceptual estimates, preliminary budgets, and detailed bid proposals throughout the preconstruction process.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to validate project scope and pricing.
- Identify value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to support accurate pricing and reliable bid coverage.
- Assist with bid reviews, scope leveling, cost analysis, and project handover following contract award.
- Monitor market conditions, material pricing, and labor costs to maintain accurate estimating data.

The Successful Applicant
- Previous experience as an Estimator within commercial construction, with a strong emphasis on multifamily projects.
- Demonstrated experience estimating ground-up multifamily developments, including apartments and other residential developments.
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, budgeting, and subcontractor bid leveling.
- Established relationships with subcontractors and suppliers across relevant construction trades.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and current market pricing.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced preconstruction environment.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
