Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC Technician maintains, repairs, and installs heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems; maintains electrical systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and repair boilers, compressors, pumps, air handling equipment, fans, blowers, and associated control systems including lubrication, housekeeping, and repair.
- Repair and maintain split system heat pumps and air conditioning.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems that arise in the HVAC equipment.
- Maintain and repair water coolers and ice machines; repair and maintain coolers and freezer refrigerant systems.
- Maintain campus filter replacement and cleaning system.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of computers to maintain HVAC systems
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- May require walking or standing for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a positive driving record.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent desired.
- At least 1 - 2 years of experience in a maintenance or construction environment.
