Description

The YMCA of Broome County is looking for a dependable part-time Custodian to help keep our Binghamton facility clean, safe, and welcoming. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work, can follow a routine, and works well independently.

Available Hours

• Weekday mornings
• Daytime weekends

You do not need to be available for all of these hours. We may hire more than one person and can work with different availability based on our staffing needs.

What You’ll Do

• Clean assigned areas of the building, including floors, restrooms, common areas, and other spaces.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Empty trash, restock supplies, and keep custodial areas organized.
• Use cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly.
• Help with room set-up and clean-up for programs, meetings, and events.
• Assist with basic grounds and outdoor clean-up as needed.
• Report maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to your supervisor.
• Be respectful and professional with members, residents, staff, and guests.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of custodial, janitorial, cleaning, or related experience preferred.
• Dependable and able to complete assigned work with limited supervision.
• Able to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.
• Able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical cleaning work.
• Friendly, professional, and willing to work as part of a team.
