Job Summary

The primary focus of this two-year management position is to oversee the planning, budgeting, bid gathering, execution, compliance, and quality control of the capital improvements planned in the parish Lord Renew Your Church capital campaign. Success involves securing approvals from the trustees, finance council, and archdiocese by keeping them informed of progress and leveraging their expertise in contractor selection and decision making. This employee must be available to meet with all contractors, service providers, and vendors throughout the day, both in relation to the capital projects and in general. Good pre-communication about the work being done to the staff, parish, and school is a key indicator of superior performance. The secondary focus is to oversee the upkeep, safety, beauty, and usability of the entire Saint Raphael campus during this time. This employee creates and executes our comprehensive monthly and annual preventative maintenance schedule, guided by our equipment manufacturer specifications (winterize small engines, irrigation system, etc.), the annual Catholic Mutual PACE/PRISM report (roof, parking lots, safety, etc.), municipal/state inspection codes (fire, food safety, etc.), and common-sense seasonal requirements (winter mats, wax floors when school lets out, etc.). This comprehensive maintenance schedule directs the work of our contracted cleaning service(s) and/or custodian(s) in their weekly duties, and also coordinates and gives work direction to our Director of Maintenance as needed to complete joint projects. The final focus is to diligently track the parish and school calendars alongside fellow staff and ministry leaders, so that the setup needs for campus events are intuited and pro-actively anticipated. Setup/teardown work will primarily be done by the Custodian and the Director of Maintenance, but this employee will assign those duties as they arise at the weekly Tuesday facilities meeting and occasionally have to help with them. Due to the temporary nature of the capital projects, this position is a temporary role, ending 2 years after the work agreement is signed. At that time, if both parties are in agreement, the position may evolve into a permanent role. View full description here.
