Preschool Assistant Teacher - Early Childhood Education
Location: The Learning Experience - Grand Rapids Beltline, MI
Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Grand Rapids Beltline is seeking a caring and dependable Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to begin or grow a career in early childhood education. You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where preschoolers build confidence, independence, friendships, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher with daily Preschool classroom routines and learning activities
- Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on experiences
- Support early literacy, language, math, creativity, and social-emotional development
- Encourage independence, problem-solving, and positive peer interactions
- Assist with meals, rest time, outdoor play, transitions, and classroom routines
- Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
- Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred, but not required
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
- Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow within early childhood education
- Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements
