Job Summary
Baruch Senior Ministries, a nonprofit organization, is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to be our Part-Time Maintenance Assistant at our neighborhood communities, Hyde Park and Living Joy, located in Flushing, MI. Both Hyde Park and Living Joy offer assisted living and specialized care in a home-like environment with a range of care covering minimal assistance to care for the frail elderly.
As the Maintenance Assistant, you will assist the Maintenance Director in ensuring all areas of the facility are properly maintained and in good working order, including electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, as well as the building and grounds. You will help ensure the facility remains in compliance with applicable safety and fire regulations and all federal, state, and local building codes. You will also assist with developing and maintaining the department budget, purchasing necessary supplies and equipment, and identifying and recommending independent contractors for repairs as needed.

Qualified Candidates will possess:
- A passion for our mission of caring for people as they age
- A High School diploma or GED
- Experience in building and equipment maintenance OR a combination of education and experience
- A working knowledge of licensing rules, fire and safety codes, and MIOSHA regulations
- Must be self directed and professional with staff and residents
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
Shifts Available: Part-Time, 16-20 hours a week
