Job Summary
Within Franciscan Health, our Unit Secretary provides operational support to the unit within the defined scope of practice to maintain quality of care standards. This position, also, acts as a first line customer service advocate to promote excellence in the customer experience.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Contacts consulting physicians and answer call lights.
- Place room notification (i.e. magnets, signs) for patients who are fall risks, have wounds, or on isolation precautions.
- Assist with transporting patients.
- Provide unit support by assisting with bed assignments and maintaining accurate patient locations in Epic.
- Maintain supplies and office equipment, including downtime devices, as well as logs maintenance repairs and maintenance of unit statistics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year Healthcare related experience
Preferred - Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) - National Association of Health Unit Coordinators
