Lead with Confidence. Support Your Team. Make a Difference.

Deaconess Illinois is seeking an experienced and confident Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Night House Supervisor at our critical access hospital.

This is an important leadership role for a nurse who enjoys supporting their team, making sound clinical decisions, and helping ensure safe, high-quality patient care throughout the hospital. During night shift, you will provide clinical oversight and serve as a resource for nursing staff and other departments. This is also a hands-on position, requiring the ability to step into direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED) or Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit when staffing needs or patient acuity require additional support.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who can balance hospital-wide responsibilities with frontline patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for hospital departments during night shift.

  • Support, guide, and serve as a resource for nursing staff to promote safe, high-quality patient care.

  • Respond to clinical emergencies and provide support throughout the facility.

  • Step into direct patient care responsibilities in the ED and/or Med/Surg unit when staffing needs arise.

  • Collaborate with providers, department leaders, and on-call leadership to coordinate patient care and hospital operations.

  • Promote compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.

  • Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges during off-hours.

  • Use strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills to address changing patient care and staffing needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to provide clinical leadership while remaining comfortable with hands-on patient care.

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Compensation & Incentives

  • Hourly compensation: $33.75–$50.63.

  • Potential performance-based bonus, subject to eligibility requirements and established performance metrics.

  • Eligible evening/night and weekend shift incentives based on company policies and applicable job codes.

Additional details regarding bonus eligibility and shift incentives will be shared during the interview process.
