Operations DirectorWintz Company

Woodbury is seeking a Director of Business Operations to serve as a critical partner to the CEO, bringing structure, clarity, and operational discipline to a fast-growing, high-performing homebuilding and development company. This role reports directly to the CEO/Co-founder and sits at the center of the organization, helping run the daily operations and financial reporting that help our team execute at a high level.

Business Operations: Own and refine the operating architecture already in place, so it's continuously updated and maximized to the company's changing priorities

• Serve as the cross-vertical coordination point between construction, sales, and finance

• Maintain a pulse and knowledge on the various business functions, helping refine systems and processes

• Help run the company's operating system with the CEO, using EOS principles as the foundation

• Work with sales to ensure operations translate into an exceptional customer experience — every touchpoint, from first contact through closeout, feels intentional, hospitable, and personal

Financial Reporting & Stewardship: Own oversight of the company's finances and work with the bookkeeper to produce financial reports. Act as the CEO's financial visibility layer, without personally producing the bookkeeping or accounting itself

WEEKLY

• Manage banking relationship and construction draw schedule, working with bookkeeper to maintain a healthy cash position on accounts payable

• Track job costing against build timelines and budget

MONTHLY

• Order appraisals on new homes at draw milestones and finalize construction loan closings

• Review P&L and balance sheet reports; build and update the rolling cash flow forecast

• Surface financial risks and opportunities; liaise with the CPA on tax matters

Leadership & Accountability: Bring executive-level leadership acumen to the role — the judgment and follow-through to keep the business healthy, not just the tasks to run it

• Convert the CEO's priorities and company goals into a working cadence with clear weekly, quarterly, and annual milestones

• Establish accountability for goals and milestones

• Create clear handoffs between departments and define escalation paths

• Keep the open issues list short by resolving and delegating them quickly

• Directly manage the bookkeeper and accountant

• 4+ years of business experience, ideally in development, general contracting, finance, or general business operations

• College degree in related field preferred, not required; Business Finance/Operations or MRE

• Leadership and people management experience is essential

• Ability to read and interpret financial documents (P&L, balance sheet) is necessary

• QuickBooks Online familiarity

• Strong spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets or Excel) required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Comfort with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats across departments

Maintaining good relationships with various stakeholders is key: the City, investors, banks, trade partners, future tenants, prospective buyers, and most importantly our neighbors who live there. This results in a high degree of coordination needed between Sales, Construction, Development, Marketing, and Finance. This job sits in the middle of the coordination, managing the shifting priorities that will evolve as the company evolves.
