Job Title: Toddler Program Assistant at Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy

Description: Are you passionate about early childhood education? Ready to make a lasting impact on young learners? Join our team at the YMCA as a Toddler Program Assistant! We're looking for someone who's nurturing, energetic, and committed to creating a positive, safe, and enriching environment for toddlers.

Duties:

• Deliver high-quality care and early education aligned with the YMCA's values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring
• Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities-arts & crafts, music, storytelling, outdoor play, and more
• Support positive behavior and foster social-emotional growth
• Supervise daily routines like meals, free play, and playground time
• Build strong, positive relationships with families and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences
• Maintain accurate classroom and program records
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and family engagement events

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CDA credential or a related college degree
• Completion of DCF Introductory Child Care Training (Parts 1 & 2)
• 6 months to 1 year of preschool teaching experience
• Able to lift up to 40lbs and actively engage with children both indoors and outdoors
• Pass a 10-panel drug screen.
• Clear a Level 2 background check*

Perks & Pay: Part-Time, $16.00-$21.00 per hour, based on experience. Free YMCA membership for employee and discount for household family members.
