Love Data? Love Animals? Make Your Work Matter.

Put your organizational skills, attention to detail, and database experience to work helping animals in need. At the Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC), every donation supports our lifesaving mission. Accurate records, thoughtful donor communication, and reliable fundraising information help turn that generosity into compassionate care.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and providing excellent donor service. As our Donor Stewardship & Database Coordinator, you’ll serve as the primary administrator for Virtuous CRM, process gifts, communicate with donors, and provide information that helps our Finance and Advancement teams succeed.

Experience with Virtuous is preferred, but not required. We welcome candidates with experience in Virtuous, Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, or comparable systems.

Why Join HSSC?

As HSSC prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2027, your work will help sustain the fundraising efforts that make our mission possible.

  • Make a meaningful impact. Support the contributions that provide lifesaving care for animals.
  • Take ownership and contribute ideas. Become a trusted resource for donor information and help improve the systems and processes your colleagues use.
  • Build your expertise. Apply and expand your skills in CRM administration, fundraising reporting, and donor stewardship.
  • Enjoy a primarily weekday schedule. Work full-time onsite in Sarasota, with occasional evening or weekend support for events or organizational needs.

What You’ll Do

Manage Our Donor Database

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Virtuous CRM, including database maintenance, user access, troubleshooting, and staff support.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, giving histories, communication preferences, and engagement activities.
  • Manage data imports and exports, resolve duplicate or inaccurate records, and coordinate integrations with other systems.

Support a Great Donor Experience

  • Accurately process charitable contributions and maintain pledge records, recurring gift schedules, and payment tracking.
  • Prepare timely, personalized donor acknowledgments, receipts, and gift-related correspondence.
  • Respond professionally to donor questions about gifts, acknowledgments, pledges, and recurring donations.
  • Maintain online donation forms and help improve gift processing and acknowledgment workflows.

Turn Information Into Insights

  • Create fundraising reports, dashboards, donor lists, and analyses to support leadership decisions and fundraising activities.
  • Track fundraising results and donor giving trends.
  • Support campaigns and donor outreach through segmentation and accurate records of donor assignments, interactions, and commitments.

Connect Finance and Fundraising

  • Coordinate reconciliation between donor gift records and HSSC’s accounting system, researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain documentation for financial reporting and audits.
  • Improve workflows, document procedures, and help colleagues use donor information effectively.
