Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our healthcare team in North Port, Florida. This position provides both clinical and administrative support to providers while helping deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced medical setting.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong communication skills, can effectively assist with clinical procedures, and thrives in a patient-focused environment.

Location: 13815 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34287
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM

How will you make an impact & Requirements

‎ 

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, including obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergy information
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Assist providers during exams, treatments, and minor procedures
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
• Prepare, label, and process laboratory specimens accurately
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and chronic disease management
• Accurately document patient information and provider instructions in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up care
• Support patient triage and care coordination efforts
• Maintain infection control standards and proper equipment maintenance
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and team members

Qualifications

Required

• Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (CMA/RMA)
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
  Experience assisting providers with clinical procedures
  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Preferred

• Experience with Athenahealth (Athena) EHR
  Experience working in any medical specialty (Primary Care experience not required)

Compensation Range:
