Prep Cook - The JoyceThink Hospitality

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and portion ingredients for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
• Follow recipes and production instructions accurately to ensure consistency.
• Assist in the preparation of sauces, marinades, and other components as directed.
• Stock and organize workstations with necessary supplies for smooth service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
• Assist with basic cooking tasks as needed, such as blanching, sautéing, or frying.
• Monitor food inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the kitchen team.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Support line cooks during service by ensuring ingredients and tools are readily available.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by chefs or supervisors.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required; we provide training.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
