Unico Building Supply of Florida, Inc. is a growing building materials supplier specializing in doors, trim, windows, hardware, and turnkey installation services.

As we continue to expand our commercial and multi-family division, we are seeking an experienced Commercial / Multi-Family Door Estimator to join our team.

This role is responsible for reviewing construction plans, performing accurate material takeoffs, preparing competitive bids, and coordinating with vendors, contractors, sales, and operations throughout the estimating process.

The ideal candidate understands commercial doors, frames, and hardware and can confidently interpret construction documents, door schedules, and project specifications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review architectural drawings, door schedules, specifications, and construction documents

• Perform detailed material takeoffs for commercial and multi-family door packages

• Estimate hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, prehung units, architectural hardware, and related materials

• Review hardware sets, fire ratings, opening requirements, and project specifications

• Prepare competitive proposals for general contractors, developers, and builders

• Request and review vendor quotations to ensure competitive material pricing

• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential conflicts within construction documents

• Coordinate with Sales and Operations to ensure project requirements are accurately addressed

• Maintain organized estimating records, bid documentation, and project information

• Assist with value engineering and alternative product recommendations when appropriate

• Follow up on submitted bids and support project transitions from estimating to awarded contracts

• Develop installation labor estimates when required

What We're Looking For

Required

• Experience estimating commercial or multi-family doors, frames, and hardware

• Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, door schedules, and construction specifications

• Knowledge of commercial doors, hollow metal frames, wood doors, and architectural hardware

• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software

• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet project deadlines

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred

• 3+ years of experience estimating commercial or multi-family door packages

• Experience with door and hardware distributors, building material suppliers, or commercial contractors

• Familiarity with Division 08 specifications

• Knowledge of fire-rated assemblies, ADA accessibility requirements, and commercial hardware applications

• Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar estimating software

• Experience estimating installation labor and turnkey door packages
