Refrigeration Technician 3, Facilities – Monroe County / Florida KeysPublix Super Markets

Description

The purpose of this position is to provide expert support to retail refrigeration operations by performing HVAC repair and maintenance, general rack refrigeration maintenance, and routine refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores. This position also performs special refrigeration projects for retail facilities and assists with the implementation of corporate projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently evaluating and performing HVACR repairs and general maintenance on all refrigeration systems and equipment in the Retail environment, including complex issues
• Providing training and mentoring to others
• Performing housekeeping duties

Required Qualifications

• Completion of HVAC/refrigeration trade school, equivalent training, or relevant experience
• Five years of supermarket refrigeration service OR 2 years as a Refrigeration Tech 2
• EPA Universal license and valid driver’s license
• Extensive supermarket HVAC/refrigeration knowledge, including energy management controls
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently, initiate and complete tasks, use available resources, and follow through without supervision
• Ability to work effectively under stress and time pressure; manage time and prioritize tasks
• Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
• Ability to learn and apply new information, procedures, and principles
• Ability to analyze information from multiple sources, identify root causes, solve problems, and prevent potential issues
• Ability to build and maintain productive, professional relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors
• Ability to write clear, accurate, professional English with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency; knowledge of EMS systems
• Available for local day trips, overnight travel, nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and 24/7 on-call duty

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 years working in supermarket refrigeration service OR 4 years as a Refrigeration Tech 2
• Publix standards and procedures
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of SAP

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November.

In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.

In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
