Job Summary
Job Overview: The Food & Beverage Supervisor works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to oversee Restaurant, Bar, & Banquet functions within the restaurant to ensure we maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and service while covering the Food & Beverage Manager's duties when needed.
Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of all aspects of the restaurant, dining room and function rooms
- Overseeing the F&B team including but not limited to: recruitment, training, performance management, and development
- Work closely with Human Resources and Food & Beverage Manager to assist with recruiting, training, and performance management
- Motivates the staff to ensure that guest receives excellent services
- Directs, implements and maintains great service to guests
- Supervising cash handling procedures
- Finding training opportunities through daily activities
- Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the food and beverage department
- Inspire the staff to look at job responsibilities through the guests’ perspectives
- Communicate and collaborate with other hotel departments including Sales, Restaurants, Catering, etc. to ensure seamless guest service and creative solutions to venue and event opportunities
Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Hotel & Restaurant Management is preferred
- Previous food & beverage experience is required. Experience in supervising food & beverage team in a full-service boutique or luxury hotel environment is preferred
- Basic computer skills is required. Prior experience using Microsoft Office and knowledge of standard restaurant and bar operations technology including Micros and Open Table is preferred
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in Spanish also desired
- Active Food Handler’s certificate is preferred
