Do you love developing elegant, clean solutions to complex systems? We're looking for a software developer with 2+ years of experience for an executive branch federal agency to help design and build highly available web applications and visualization frameworks. You will work across the software stack, from implementing scalable APIs and data pipelines to creating intuitive front-end interfaces and integrating AI-powered

features into our services. In this critical role, you will be part of an agile software team that

produces high-quality tools and services used across the organization for processing large

amounts of data from new and legacy systems with an aim to modernize and deprecate older

systems in your wake.

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Designing and maintaining end-to-end web applications, including frontend, backend, and

database layers

• Developing and debugging tools

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create interconnects for their critical data

• Developing and deploying REST APIs that serve both traditional and AI-driven features

• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and monitoring to ensure reliability

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (equivalent practical

experience or comparable project/portfolio work)

• 0–2 years of experience (including internships, co-ops, academic, or personal projects)

writing software in at least one general-purpose programming language (Python, JavaScript, or

Go)

• Exposure to frontend web development, including React or another modern JavaScript

framework (coursework or project experience is acceptable)

• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL; awareness of NoSQL concepts

• Comfort working in a Linux environment (command-line basics)

• Basic understanding of RESTful API design and common authentication concepts (e.g., JWT,

OAuth)

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid grounding in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles

• Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases in a production or project setting

• Experience deploying REST APIs that serve traditional and/or AI-driven features

• Working knowledge of Splunk or the Elastic Stack

• Experience building microservices-based web architecture

• Experience with Databricks

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, GitLab, etc.

• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes container orchestration

• Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) into applications

• Ability to work in a dynamic and highly collaborative team environment

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities
