Job Description

• Prepare detailed conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates for concrete, excavation, utilities, grading, paving, and site development projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and bid packages.
• Manage projects from award through completion, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
• Monitor project costs, projections, billing, and overall financial performance.
• Conduct site visits and progress meetings to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify risk factors, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience managing civil construction, site development, concrete, excavation, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of earthwork, grading, stormwater systems, utilities, paving, and structural concrete operations.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Self-motivated professional with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Design-build and preconstruction experience preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of project manager / estimator experience in concrete, sitework, heavy civil, or land development construction.
• Strong takeoff and estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
• Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Knowledge of excavation, grading, utilities, paving, drainage, and concrete construction practices.
• Change order, subcontract, and contract administration experience.
• Strong proficiency with construction management and estimating software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to visit active project sites.
