Job Description

As an Insurance Accountant at Garzella Group, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our growing independent insurance brokerage. This role is responsible for managing agency and premium accounting functions, ensuring carrier and client transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support our mission of providing exceptional service and sustainable growth for both our clients and our agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reconcile carrier statements (agency and direct bill)
• Process commission and premium statements with precision
• Maintain billing records, invoicing, and client payments
• Support month-end journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
• Partner with sales and service teams to resolve billing questions
• Ensure compliance with trust accounting standards and internal procedures
• Monitor overdue accounts and assist with collections
• Prepare documentation for audits and support audit processes
• Use EZLynx and accounting software to manage financial data

REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years in an insurance agency or related accounting role (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; dependable and proactive communicator
• Experience with EZLynx (required); QuickBooks and Excel preferred
• Familiarity with GAAP, trust accounting, and premium reconciliation
