Essential Responsibilities

- Assist with, perform, and lead commercial irrigation repairs and maintenance based on skills and experience.

- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotors, spray heads, drip systems, valves, valve boxes, controllers, backflow devices, pipe, fittings, filters, and pressure-regulating equipment.

- Operate, program, troubleshoot, and optimize irrigation controllers.

- Diagnose system problems, determine appropriate repairs, and communicate findings to supervisors and account managers.

- Document completed work, materials used, system conditions, and recommended repairs.

- Provide professional service and support water conservation and responsible water management.

- Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced team members as appropriate.

- Take responsibility for assigned work, communicate problems promptly, and help complete projects safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

What We're Looking For

- Dependable attendance and punctuality.

- Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and develop technical skills.

- Ability to work outdoors in Arizona weather and safely use basic tools and irrigation equipment.

- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and make sound decisions independently at the assigned level.

- Professional attitude, appearance, communication, and documentation skills.

- Valid driver's license preferred.

- Previous landscape or irrigation experience helpful but not required for entry-level candidates.

Career Progression

This is one overall irrigation position with responsibilities ranging from entry-level support to advanced technical and leadership work.

Employees may progress through these competency levels:

Level 1 — Irrigation Helper

Learns irrigation fundamentals, assists experienced team members, performs basic repairs under supervision, and develops proficiency with tools, components, safety, documentation, and customer service.

Level 2 — Irrigation Technician

Performs routine repairs and maintenance with greater independence, troubleshoots systems, programs controllers, diagnoses issues, documents work, and communicates with customers and property representatives.

Level 3 — Senior Irrigation Specialist

Handles complex troubleshooting and repairs, works independently, supports system optimization and water management, helps coordinate assigned work, mentors team members, and serves as a technical resource.

Advancement is based on demonstrated skills, knowledge, reliability, workmanship, leadership, and ability to perform required competencies, not simply time in position.
