About the role
The Associate Director, Market Access Marketing operationalizes CG Oncology's market access strategy into compliant, field-ready communications for the company's first commercial launch in oncology. The role owns the market access marketing content roadmap and its execution: payer, health system, and practice value communications, reimbursement and access tools, field enablement, agency and vendor management, and end-to-end ownership of the medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review process for market access materials, so assets are approved and deployed on the timeline the launch requires. This is a strategy-fluent role that sits where strategy bridges into execution.
This role suits a builder. It is a greenfield opportunity to shape the market access marketing capability from the ground up, helping refine the broader access strategy and translating it into launch execution.
The role works in close partnership with Brand Marketing across the full interface: integrating access messaging into the core brand materials, maintaining brand identity and visual consistency across access materials, and coordinating with omnichannel planning on placements and sequencing.
Essential Functions
Market Access Marketing Strategy & Content Roadmap
- Refine and operationalize the market access marketing strategy and own the content roadmap and resource inventory sequenced to launch milestones.
- Translate the access strategy into a clear message architecture and audience-tailored messaging across payer, health system, practice, channel, reimbursement, and patient-support audiences.
- Maintain a live launch resource tracker covering every asset, owner, review status, approval date, and deployment milestone.
Brand Marketing Partnership
- Partner closely with Brand Marketing to co-develop an integrated HCP message architecture, aligning access and brand messaging, campaign timing, and shared assets across the customer experience.
- Serve as Market Access's primary interface into brand planning, so access considerations shape the HCP experience from the start; brand strategy ownership remains with Brand Marketing.
- Maintain brand identity and visual consistency across all access materials, and coordinate with omnichannel planning on the placement, sequencing, and channel mix of access content.
MLR & Promotional Review Process Ownership
- Serve as primary point of contact and process owner for market access materials in MLR review, owing to the end-to-end workflow: submission scheduling and routing, claims substantiation, comment consolidation and resolution, version control, and approval-timeline management.
- Maintain a tracking system for real-time visibility into review status and approval dates; set submission standards and cadence, and coach agency and internal partners on MLR requirements before submission.
Payer, Health System & Practice Value Communications
- Lead payer and organized-customer value communications, including the payer value story, objection handlers, coverage and formulary resources, and dossier pull-through materials, in partnership with HEOR and Medical Affairs, tailored for national and regional payers, PBMs, GPOs, IDNs, health systems, and pathway stakeholders.
- Develop health systems and practice value communications that support access conversations at the site of care.
- Equip the national and strategic account team with current, approved value resources and account-discussion guides.
Access, Reimbursement & Billing Education
- Develop health system and practice-facing access materials: reimbursement guides, J-code and HCPCS coding and billing education, buy-and-bill economics, site-of-care considerations, and quick-start and office-staff resources.
- Build patient-services and hub overview materials covering enrollment, benefit verification, affordability, and case management for HCPs and office staff.
Field Enablement & Training
- Develop access-specific training, FAQs, and role-based pull-through tools for account directors, field reimbursement teams, and sales, in partnership with the field training function, so field teams can explain access, use approved resources correctly, answer objections compliantly, and escalate operational issues appropriately.
Agency, Vendor & Sponsorship Management
- Manage the agency of record (AOR) and additional agency and vendor relationships as needs emerge: project briefs, timelines, SOWs, budgets, feedback consolidation, and deliverable quality.
- Scope new work, evaluate and onboard new agencies and vendors, and manage budget tracking, SOWs, and vendor performance across the portfolio of partners.
- Plan and manage access-relevant sponsorships and paid placements, including association and congress sponsorships and trade and access-channel placements, within the market access marketing budget, coordinating with Brand Marketing where placements intersect the broader HCP media plan.
Launch Readiness, Optimization & Cross-functional Alignment
- Act as the access-message and enablement control point through launch and hypercare, and run the post-launch feedback loop from field, payer, and reimbursement insights into resource updates, training refreshes, and lifecycle and indication-expansion content.
- Coordinate across Market Access, Payer Accounts, Patient Services, HEOR, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Brand Marketing, Field Training, Trade Operations, and Commercial Operations, ensuring all activities comply with Company policies, promotional-review standards, and approved product messaging.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in marketing, business, or life sciences is preferred
- 7+ years of professional experience, or equivalent, including experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences commercial role.
- Commercial marketing experience required, including direct development of customer-facing materials; market access marketing or payer marketing experience strongly preferred.
- Product launch experience strongly preferred, particularly development of payer, health system, and practice access materials.
- Experience taking materials through MLR or promotional review; experience as the review process owner and with agency-of-record management strongly preferred.
- Oncology or specialty/rare disease experience strongly preferred; urology or bladder cancer experience a plus.
- Approximately 15 to 20% travel required.
