We aspire to be the best player in a constantly changing game.Here's what you get to do in this role: As a member of the State Policy team, you will work with all PLF’s capabilities—litigation, strategic research, coalitions, and communications—to develop both model policies and actual legislation that advance liberty and individual rights. You will draft legislation, model bills, one-pagers, research memos, and blogs and op-eds supporting our mission and vision.Getting down to brass tacks, your specific job duties will likely include:Working with PLF litigators and the policy team to draft innovative policy solutions to prevent pernicious discrimination, promote economic opportunity, fight the administrative state, protect property rights, and expand energy abundanceConducting legal research to support policy drafting Drafting one-pagers and other supporting documentation for PLF’s model policiesReviewing legislation and providing technical support to the state policy teamOccasional travel (approximately 5%)This role is ideal for someone with:At least 1-3 years of experience drafting legislationA law degree or extensive knowledge of the law and public policyKnowledge of and a principled passion for individual liberty, one that transcends private or other political interestsProof of strong writing and research skillsAbout Pacific Legal Foundation:Pacific Legal Foundation identifies and litigates important legal issues to set landmark precedents that will benefit Americans nationwide.
