Interns may perform any of the essential duties listed either in part or in whole. Lifeline places interns in a wide variety of roles within the organization and as such, we are unable to provide a comprehensive list of all possible intern responsibilities. As a final note, in order to ensure all educational standards are met, the intern’s field placement requirements provided by their institution will supersede any internal Lifeline intern responsibilities.

General Services:

• To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
• Actively participates on assigned team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with them, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
• Participates in assigned team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values.
• Assists with any team project as assigned.
• Coordinate with State or Program Director on strategic outreach efforts to the local church community.
• Participate in local informational meeting about programs offered in intern’s location including, but not limited to: adoption, church-based programs, foster care, Harbor Families, etc.
• Project support (resource manuals, community resources, etc).
• May gain experience networking with local church and/or community partners and event promotion on behalf of Lifeline.

Local Development

• Assist with donor communications, acknowledgments, database updates, campaign support, donor research, and fundraising materials
• Support planning and execution of fundraising events, coordinate logistics, prepare materials, assist volunteers, and help manage event-day activities
• Organize files, track event data, assist with reporting, and participate in team projects

Educational Services:

• Assist with the promotion & logistics of non-social services programs which may include taking and recording referrals, contacting participants or caseworkers referred to Lifeline, etc
• Assist with the execution of Lifeline Education & Equipping events
• Liaison with Crisis Pregnancy Centers that have requested information from Lifeline.
• Research trends in childhood trauma, institutionalization, and attachment issues.

Global Orphan Care:

• Assist the team in preparing curriculum and other resources to equip the Body of Christ across the globe

Social Services Interns will also:

• Assist assigned team with administrative duties geared toward case management
• Shadow home study visits
• Possible shadowing/ engagement in direct practice with women from various socioeconomic backgrounds
• Assist in drafting reports
• Attend staff and team meetings
• May also contribute to work preparing dossiers for submission to foreign governments, working with the Department of State and US Embassies
