Job Summary
The Manager, Development leads a team of eight US-based software developers within the Technical Center of Excellence (TCoE) of Deltek Professional Services (DPS). The TCoE turns deep technical expertise into the standards, tools, and reusable assets that make every implementation faster, stronger, and more repeatable. Your team builds customer extensions for Deltek’s Costpoint, Maconomy, and Vantagepoint products, working closely with DPS implementation teams. You will coach and grow your people, drive consistent development practices, and lead the adoption of AI tools across the development lifecycle, in partnership with TCoE leaders around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop eight direct reports, providing regular feedback, performance development, and career growth opportunities.
  • Deliver customer extensions for Costpoint, Maconomy, and Vantagepoint on time and to a high quality standard by managing priorities and capacity and removing blockers.
  • Drive adoption of standard development practices, including coding standards, version control, CI/CD, peer review, quality controls, and documentation.
  • Build and maintain reusable assets, prompts, templates, and standards that are shared across the global TCoE.
  • Lead an AI-first delivery model across the development lifecycle (specification, build, test, documentation). Set team expectations for AI fluency, coach developers to use AI tools effectively, and personally model AI-first practice.
  • Enforce high-quality specifications as the foundation of AI-assisted development, with precise, unambiguous design specs that enable customer approval and reliable AI-assisted implementation.
  • Partner with global TCoE leaders to execute strategy and improve process, tooling, and delivery, aligning the team with global standards.
  • Guide the team through the evolution of the TCoE, communicating expectations clearly and supporting people through new structures, processes, and tools.
  • Promote continuous learning and look for opportunities to streamline workflows, automate repetitive work, and adopt emerging technologies.
