The QC Lab Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and consistency of all beverage products manufactured at the facility. This position is responsible for performing routine laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality and regulatory specifications. The QC Lab Technician works closely with production and sanitation teams to support continuous compliance with GMP, HACCP, and SQF standards.
Testing & Inspection
Conduct routine tests and analyses, including pH, Brix, titration, temperature, viscosity, microbiological sampling, and sensory evaluations.
Sample and test incoming raw materials, bulk product during production, and finished goods prior to release.
Accurately record test results and compare to established specifications.
Data Recording & Reporting
Maintain legible and accurate laboratory records in logs, batch records, and data sheets.
Communicate any out-of-specification results or anomalies to the QC Manager immediately.
Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as required.
Equipment & Calibration
Operate, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, refractometers, spectrophotometers, and scales.
Maintain calibration records and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all company policies and procedures, including GMP, GLP, HACCP, and SQF protocols.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Participate in internal audits, mock recalls, and training exercises.
Support Activities
Assist with troubleshooting and investigations of quality issues.
Support product development testing or shelf-life studies as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab and testing areas
- 1+ year experience in a food or beverage quality control laboratory preferred, but entry-level candidates will be considered with appropriate training.•3 - 5 years
- Associate degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).•3 - 5 years
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn ERP systems.•3 - 5 years
- Good verbal and written communication skills.•3 - 5 years
- High attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely.
- Basic understanding of lab procedures and food safety standards.•3 - 5 years
