Development ManagerChildren's Health Defense

The Development Manager works to create and maintain key constituent relationships, expand and maintain CHDs funding base, and ensure that fundraising targets are met. The Development Manager organizes fundraising programs, projects and special events, works directly with donors and prospects, and will grow and manage a portfolio of donors in the $5,000-$25,000 range. This critical role oversees production, execution and result tracking for online appeals, on-line and in-person events, and provides support for all CHD fundraising activity. 

• Manage the cross-unit creation and execution of monthly, online appeals to CHD’s database and membership
• Oversees the execution of “UpClose” virtual and in-person events, including working with donors and volunteers 
• Develop and manage a portfolio of mid-range donors
• Work closely with the CAO to plan, manage and coordinate stewardship activities
• Manage projects through all phases including idea, design, feedback and approval, and implementation
• Occasional oversight of temporary employees and/or Independent Contractors
• Occasional travel to remote events 
• Uphold CHD’s policies and procedures
• Attend meetings and events as required
• Respond to calls, emails and text communications in a timely manner
• All other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 – 5 years of Development experience in a similar or complementary role 
• 2+ years in the Medical Freedom movement with a strong understanding of and belief in CHD’s mission
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, BlackBaud Luminate, and MS Office Suite, strongly preferred
• Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices including donor life cycle
• Exceptional verbal, written and managerial skills
• Highest levels of discretion and professionalism
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
• Ability to travel as needed
