Transformer TechnicianMaddox Industrial Transformer

Job Summary

As a technician, you would be working in a shop and field environment where your technical and mechanical skills will be developed to simply repair or fully recondition dry-type and liquid-filled transformers.

We value skills and experience, but we’re also willing to invest in training early-career candidates with the right attitude and ambition.

This is not an assembly-line factory job. It’s a fast-paced, hard-working, but very rewarding environment where you will be part of a team of qualified technicians who rebuild industrial transformers. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a career in a positive environment, with an employer who values and recognizes your strong character, stable lifestyle, and dedicated work ethic.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, disassemble, recondition, and reassemble electrical transformers
  • Remove and replace accessories, clean and repair parts, and replace gaskets and seals
  • Perform basic MIG welding and metal fabrication tasks
  • Conduct basic electrical testing, evaluate inventory, and carry out quality control procedures
Qualifications
  • Open and honest: We value people who demonstrate good moral and ethical standards, keep their commitments, ask for help, say what needs to be said, and appreciate constructive criticism.
  • Engaged: We expect our employees to be hard-working, enthusiastic, and committed to the team. They should take pride in their work, address needs when they see them, and take responsibility. In all things, they should strive for excellence.
  • High-Trust Team-Building: We work as a team, collaborating with each other instead of competing. Everyone should aim to be a trusted and dependable team member who's enjoyable to be around and easy to work with.
  • Communicating Well: Communication between team members should be clear, concise, credible and caring. We seek first to understand, then to be understood, and to provide and ask for clear expectations for every project.
  • Investing in Others: Every team member should work to strengthen, support, and serve others, helping them to grow in their skills and understanding. We want to build strong relationships, families, and communities.
