ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ABILITIES

DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Support day to day dept. operations & staff, applying dept. policies & procedures, & making recommendations
  • Communicate assembler issues/concerns as they arise with supervisor regularly
  • Identify and locate the right products and components prior to assembly
  • Assemble components and products into final products
  • Daily usage of basic shop hand tools and power equipment (i.e. arbor press, drill press, assembly press, miter saw, hand drills, etc.)
  • Soldering
  • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of all products
  • Ensure every product has the appropriately placed label
  • Keep a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
  • Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
  • Convey to supervisor purchasing requirements
  • Perform distribution functions as necessary (moving final product with a forklift or manual pallet jack)
  • Perform shipping & receiving duties as assigned
  • Perform inventory duties as assigned
  • Follow assembly department procedures
  • Follow assembly department safety guidelines
  • Attend all departmental meetings, as required
  • Support function for Machine Shop Support, as required
  • Various duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required, undergraduate education a plus
  • Material Handler/Assembler knowledge and experience, preferred. If none, we will train.
  • General warehouse safety knowledge and experience, preferred. If none, we will train.
  • Basic knowledge operating forklift (electrical) trucks, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of general use electronics & tools
  • Basic knowledge of inventory/picking
  • Some experience working with office equipment and office computer applications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Desire to help others and work within a team
  • Familiarity exercising professional discretion
  • Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer and typing skills (min. 15 wpm)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

  • Professional, positive, and uplifting atmosphere
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and lift within applicable OSHA guidelines
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, reach and lift within applicable OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, pressured, and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down a single flight of stairs several times a day
