White Star Supply is a wholesale distributor of plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.  We have two primary locations - Brunswick, GA and Waycross, GA.  We have a great team with an evolving culture that continues to contribute to our growth.  Family owned and operated, White Star is growth oriented, people focused, and poised for continued growth despite the economic forecasts.  We support a beautiful community that includes the coastal community of Southeast Georgia (Sea Island, St Simons Island, Jekyll Island).  

We are in search of someone to lead our operations, focused on purchasing, training, warehouse operations, and safety.  Process and technology improvements will continue to support our growth.  More details of the job description are as follows: 

  • Overview: Manage day-to-day operations of White Star Supply
    • Primary oversight over Brunswick store and JCP warehouse, cooperation with GM from Waycross store
  • Purchasing:
    • Oversee the purchasing for all locations
    • Maximize company value with purchasing decisions, leveraging multiple locations
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Develop strategy for products offered that maximize the profitability of the business
  • Warehouse - oversee warehouse operations
    • Picking, deliveries, and receiving process
    • Focus on level of service for customers
  • Training:
    • Develop an on-boarding plan to increase the retention rate for new employees, get them up and productive faster, and allow for more skill-based hiring versus experience
    • Implement an ongoing professional development program to allow our team members to continue to grow and learn
    • Elevate the standard of customer service (i.e. communication, call backs, letting customers know when items come in, etc.)
  • Safety:
    • Implement a safety program that keeps our team members safe and meets the requirements for our insurance policies
  • Process management:
    • Build processes and procure technology that make our company more efficient and better
    • RGA process improvement to ensure returned / cancelled orders are handled in the most appropriate way
    • Inventory management - lead the Inventory Manager to manage obsolete inventory and consistently cycle count
