Posted Date 1/12/2022
Description

Puddles & Pinecones Preschool is seeking a full time Early Elementary Teacher or Preschool Teacher for our new family-friendly, in-home Christian preschool which plans to open contingent upon the right hire. Puddles & Pinecones Preschool is a nature-based, emergent, child-centered preschool who models and teaches Christian values and teachings. We provide a safe, caring, family-friendly environment that allows and encourages children to explore, discover, create, and grow in all areas!

At Puddles & Pinecones, you will have more flexibility, creative authority, and autonomy in a family-friendly, casual environment. I desire to give you creative reign over the curriculum or lessons as long as they fit within the vision/scope/mission/values of the preschool. (I have one you can use and adapt or you can come up with your own!) You will not be expected to provide any materials. My hope is that you will have the confidence to borrow best-practices from great learning models such as Waldorf, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia, and others to build a hybrid model which integrates both alternative and traditional teaching methods that adapts to the needs of our preschoolers, brain research, and practicality!

We have a large 900 sq.ft. space with a fenced quarter acre back yard designated for the preschool. We are located in the SW Portland/Garden Home/Ashcreek neighborhood. You will also have a designated onsite office space. This is a salaried position with 45-50hrs per week. (I will also consider a part-time position, should you prefer that. We are fairly flexible in this area since we are building from the ground up!)
