Communications DirectorInnovation Council Action Inc.
We're looking for someone with 5-8 years of experience as a Communications Director to lead our organization's communications strategy. The ideal candidate will have expertise in executive communications, content development, and crisis management. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage both internal and external messaging while adapting to rapidly changing situations.
Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans emphasizing U.S. AI leadership, global markets, regulations, energy, trade, workforce, manufacturing, infrastructure, competition, and open-source tools.
Oversee media relations, press releases, and digital campaigns to demonstrate AI's sectoral impacts.
Manage the communications team, including the deputy communications director, to ensure consistent, optimistic messaging.
Coordinate advocacy efforts supporting pro-AI officials and candidates based on issue alignment.
Create content for education and grassroots mobilization, ensuring transparency and integrity.
Monitor public discourse on AI and respond strategically.
Collaborate with policy and legislative teams for integrated campaigns.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts and key stakeholders Experience managing and mentoring a team of communications professionals
