Technical DirectorConservative Partnership Institute

A partner organization is looking for someone with 5-10 years of experience as a Technical Director to lead our production and control room operations (podcasts, interviews, TV hits, occasional live events). You are expected to call shows, punch shows, troubleshoot signal flow, and everything in between. You are the owner of the control room outcomes. This role ensures high reliability, clean signal flow, and consistent technical quality.

Success requires balancing service & standards: hospitality for guests/clients while enforcing workflow discipline. You are responsible for ensuring the team meets technical standards and redundancies are created through team member cross training.

• Oversee planning and execution in the control room, ensuring quality standards

• Control room operation at Patriots Row Studios, with support for HQ Studios and live events as-needed.

• Design and maintain workflows for video, audio, lighting, and broadcast systems

• Set technical standards and ensure consistent implementation

• Train and develop technical staff and operational readiness

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues with speed and professionalism

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Events, Creative, IT, and client's media teams

• Proven track record of real-time decision making, successfully leading technical teams, and delivering large-scale projects in fast-paced and live environments

• Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience managing competing priorities and driving consensus

• 7-10 years experience in technical direction, broadcast engineering, or live/studio production

• Strong command of signal flow, routing, and production system design

• Proven ability to train staff and raise technical competency

• Strong documentation habits and systems-first thinking

• Competent using Sony and BMD equipment

• Experience with audio signal flow, including mix/minus & live streaming

• Working knowledge of DMX lighting
