You NEED to Ask Candidates This Question

Ask this question to every candidate that applies to work for you:

“What other responsibilities do you have in your life? And how do you balance those with work?”

What you're looking for is leadership roles or examples of sacrifice. Things like being a parent, youth sports coach, church leadership, volunteering for your community, etc.

Their answer will help you learn SO MUCH about who each candidate really is because you'll hear how they show up even when they aren't being paid to.

Great character, values, and work ethic rarely stay in a tidy little box that's only used at work.

The kind of people you want to hire and work with are almost always people that have a high capacity, and use that high capacity in more ways than one.
